  • ID Requirements: On the day of your class you must have 100 points of ID: Originals only (digital copies are acceptable; photos of documents will not be accepted)

Course Overview

This nationally-recognised 1-day face-to-face course gives you the mandatory general construction induction (“White Card”) required to work on any Australian construction site. You’ll learn your legal duties under WHS laws, how to identify and control common site hazards, and the steps to follow in an incident or emergency.This mandatory course is required for anyone starting work on a construction site in Australia. It introduces key health and safety legislation, risk management principles, hazard identification, emergency response, and the proper use of PPE. Ideal for first-time workers or those needing a replacement White Card.

18 years of age or over

Students need to have either successfully finished Australian Year 12 or an equivalent level of education, or hold a Certificate IV or a higher qualification from an Australian educational institution

Australian/New Zealand citizen or permanent Australian resident or hold a visa that entitles you to work and study in Australia (a student or working holiday visa are unacceptable).

Have a valid Driver’s Licence, Photo Card

Meet prescribed Language, Literacy and Numeracy requirements.

Applicants should have basic knowledge of computer including MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Power Point).

Students are expected to bring their own laptop for the training and assessment, with the Windows 7 operating system or higher

Pre-Training Review- All prospective students (the candidates) are interviewed through Phone or zoom and will have the course explained to them by a Student Services Officer. The purpose of this interview is to ensure the candidate understands the commitment of signing up to the course, entry requirements, course outcomes, and what is expected of the student during their studies with SDG College. The review also aims to identify training needs through questions on previous education or training, relevance of the courses to learner and relevant experience

All students will complete a language literacy and numeracy assessment upon enrolment to determine their learning support needs. All students will be provided with a range of learning support options and resources to help you achieve competency

  • Written Quiz – Multiple choice & short-answer questions

  • You will be required to complete assessments in class
  • Assessment will be conducted individually/in groups. You will be provided with a Student Assessment Booklet for each unit of competency which includes:

    Formative assessment

    Is provided through class activities and observation.

    Summative Assessment

    All summative assessments are based on the principles of competency-based training and assessment. Students will be assessed in both theory and simulated practical skills.

    A final summative assessment is conducted and recorded in the ACSE Assessment Kit
